Catsup and mayo sauce — also called fry sauce, fancy sauce, or pink sauce — is the easiest condiment you will ever make. Here is the ratio and every variation worth knowing.
The Basic Ratio

2 parts mayonnaise to 1 part catsup. That is it. For one serving: 2 tablespoons mayo + 1 tablespoon catsup. Stir together. Done.
- Prep time: 1 minute
- Cook time: None
- Yield: Scales to any amount
Variations

Thousand Island Style
Add 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish per 3 tablespoons of base sauce. Stir in a pinch of onion powder.
Spicy Fry Sauce
Add 1 teaspoon sriracha (or more to taste) per 3 tablespoons of base sauce.
Garlic Aioli Version
Add 1 minced garlic clove (or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder) and a squeeze of lemon juice per 3 tablespoons of base sauce.
Smoky Comeback Sauce
Add 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, a dash of Worcestershire, and a squeeze of lemon.
Tips
- Use full-fat mayo for the best flavor and texture. Low-fat versions make a watery sauce.
- The sauce keeps refrigerated for as long as the mayo is fresh — check the jar date.
